Healthy oats cake with crispy crust


Oats cake is a healthy dessert which can be enjoyed even by diabetic patients. The goodness of oats and wheat flour add a unique flavour and texture to this pressure-cooked cake.


½ cup oats

1 cup sugar

1 cup wheat flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp cocoa powder

½ cup olive oil

1 cup milk

½ tsp vanilla essence


Grind the oats and sugar separately into fine powders

Sieve the powdered oats, wheat powder, baking soda, baking powder and cocoa powder together

In a vessel add olive oil and powdered sugar

Mix well

Add milk and vanilla essence into it and mix everything well

Add the oats-flour mixture into it slowly and fold it well

Sprinkle a cup of salt inside the pressure cooker and place a stand on top of it

Heat up the pressure cooker

Pour the cake batter into a greased dish and place it on the stand inside the pressure cooker

Cook for 30 minutes without the weigh on

Insert a tooth pick into the centre of the cake to check whether it is cooked

Garnish with toasted oats flakes.
