Mushroom rice


Mushroom rice is very creamy and packed with flavour. This is undoubtedly an easy way of dishing up some tasty rice for a quick lunch or dinner. One of the finest meal ever, try to make this at your home this Christmas.

1 cup basmati rice

200 gms button mushrooms (sliced)

50 gms butter

2 cups milk

3 tbsp almonds (skin removed)


In a pan, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté well

Heat butter in another pan

Add the milk

When the milk begins to boil, add the washed basmati rice

Add salt as required and stir well

Cook on low flame with the lid on

When the rice is cooked, add the sautéed mushrooms and almonds

Tastes best when served hot with refreshing cucumber raita.
