Mushroom cheese crostini

An Italian appetizer, the crostinis are grilled or toasted bread topped with scrumptious veggies and aromatic herbs.


1 tbsp olive oil

5 cloves of garlic, chopped finely

1 onion, chopped finely

1 tsp dried red chilli flakes

100 gm mushrooms, chopped

½ cup boiled chicken, shredded

½ tsp oregano

½ tsp basil

½ cup capsicum, chopped finely

Salt and pepper, as required

1 loaf of bread, sliced

Butter as required

½ cup cheese grated


Heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic followed by the chopped onions

To this, add the crushed chilli flakes and the mushrooms

Cook until the mushrooms are done and the water is completely evaporated

To this mix, add oregano and basil, capsicum and chicken bits. Mix well and remove from fire

Take the bread and cut into any preferred shape. Spread a little butter on the bread piece and place a little of the chicken filling. Cover with grated cheese and grill in the oven for 5 minutes
