Actor Joju George, who is basking in the glory of the incredible success of his latest movie Joseph, is a foodie who loves to try out unique dishes. A dish that is particularly close to Joju's heart is a special chutney that goes amazingly well with rice or hot kanji (rice gruel). “It takes just 5 minutes to make this chutney. My mother taught me how to make it. So I call it ‘amma chammanthi (mother’s chutney)’,” reveals the actor. Joju shares the recipe of this chutney which is very easy to make.

Ingredients

5 shallots

Few curry leaves

2 bird eye chillies

A small piece of tamarind

Coconut oil as required

Salt as required

Preparation

Crush the shallots and curry leaves on an ammikallu (traditional stone grinder)

Add the bird eye chillies and tamarind into it

Using your hands, break down the chillies and tamarind, and mix everything well

Add coconut oil and salt as required

Mix well.
