Spicy homemade Chinese dragon chicken


Dragon chicken is an extremely delicious Chinese dish which is as popular as the chilli chicken. The dish which goes well with fried rice, roti or chapathi, is one of the most trending dishes at Chinese restaurants around the world. Here is a simple recipe of homemade dragon chicken.


250 gms chicken (sliced)

For marinade

1 tbsp ginger - garlic paste

1 tbsp red chilli paste

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 egg

Black pepper powder as required

1 cup corn flour

1 cup all purpose flour (maida)

For gravy

1 tbsp garlic (chopped)

1 tbsp ginger (chopped)

2 onions

4 dried chillies

1 red bell pepper (cut into medium sized pieces)

1 green bell pepper (cut into medium sized pieces)

50 gms cashew

1 tsp red chilli paste

1 tbsp tomato ketchup

1 tsp honey

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup spring onion (chopped)

Coriander leaves as required


Marinate the chicken slices with ginger - garlic paste, red chilli paste, soy sauce, egg, salt, corn flour, all purpose flour (maida) and black pepper powder

Heat oil in a pan

Add the marinated chicken slices and deep fry until golden brown

In another pan, heat some oil

Add chopped garlic, ginger, onions, and dried chillies

Sauté well

Add green bell pepper, red bell pepper, cashew, red chilli paste, tomato ketchup, honey, salt, and pepper as required

Pour some water and stir well

Add the fried chicken into this

Mix well

Garnish with chopped spring onions and coriander leaves

Tastes best when served hot.
