Oats idly for weight loss

It is common knowledge that following a healthy and well-balanced diet is the secret to shed that extra flab. Nutrition experts say that a protein-rich breakfast plays a vital role in the weightloss regimen.

Oats are a rich source of protein that should be included in your daily diet. Here is an easy recipe of oats idly which is delicious and packed with nutrients. The batter to prepare the oats idly shouldn't be allowed to ferment for so long.

Ingredients

For the oats powder
2 cups oats (dry roasted and powdered)
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp yellow dal
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 green chilli
1 cup carrot (shaved)
Coriander leaves as required
A pinch of salt
For the idly batter
2 cups yogurt
½ tsp salt
A pinch of fruit salt

Preparation

Dry roast the oats in a hot pan for 5 minutes
Allow the oats to cool down before powdering them in a mixer
Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
Add the yellow dal, urad dal, green chillies, and turmeric powder
Into it add shaved carrot and coriander leaves
Add salt as required
Sauté for 2 minutes
Let this mixture cool down before adding it in the idly batter
Into a bowl add the oats powder, salt, sautéed vegetables and mix well
Add yogurt and a pinch of fruit salt
Mix everything well together
The batter should have slightly thick consistency
Cover the bowl using a lid and keep it aside for some time
Grease the idly vessel and pour the batter into each hole
Cook the oats idly in steam for at least 15 minutes.
