Tasty coconut milk rice in 15 minutes

This extremely delicious, soft, and fluffy rice cooked in fresh coconut milk has bags of flavour and aroma in it. It can be had even without the accompaniment of any curries or side dishes. However, the coconut milk rice tastes amazing with chicken, beef or mutton curries. Here is how you could easily prepare this delicious rice that too in 15 minutes.


2 cups jeerakasala rice

4 cups coconut milk

½ cup water

1 onion (chopped)

3 green chillies

Cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves

Mint leaves

Salt as required

Coconut oil as required




Heat coconut oil in a pressure cooker and sauté cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, chopped onions, green chillies, and mint leaves

Add salt as required

Sauté the ingredients until the onion begins to change colour

Now add the cashews and raisins and roast them

Into it add the jeerakasala rice and fry them well

Add 4 cups of coconut milk and half cup water

Cook until the pressure cooker gives off 1 whistle.
