Orotti - The traditional Muslim bread to break your fast with

These pan-cooked breads are ideal for a light breakfast and can work as an excellent tea time snack. Try out this coconut flavored rice bread which will fill your minds with its subtle simplicity.


2 cups of rice flour

½ cup grated coconut

½ tsp cumin, crushed

Salt as required

Water as required


Mix rice flour with coconut and cumin

Pour water and mix well

Knead the mix to form a dough

Press this dough on palm in a medium thickness to the size of a large poori

Cook it on a glazed tawa

Serve hot with omelette or honey
