During this 24x7 nibble-time, here's a great snack to keep everybody healthy and happy. What's best about this snack is that it can be bottled and preserved; easy on the purse too. So, let's make cheeda!

Ingredients

1 cup rice (soaked)
½ a coconut
1 spoon jeerakam (cumin)
Salt
4 shallots (optional)
1 spoon powdered pepper

Preparation

Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste without water
If the grinding process is difficult without water, add in a bit of rice flour while mixing all the ground ingredients
Knead the mix well and make small balls
Make small designs on the balls with a fork and deep fry them
While dipping the balls in boiling oil, see that they are allowed to fry for a while before turning them over
Crisp and crunchy cheedas are ready!
