Vattukanji- an easy herbal gruel for Karkidakam

Want to try a Karkidaka kanji with a twist? This one is especially good if you suffer from back ache and joint pain.

Ingredients

The kernels of vattukaya (green milkweed creeper seeds), ground

Unakkalari (Matta raw rice)

Grated coconut

Cumin seeds

Preparation

Pressure cook the rice, coconut, ground vattukaya kernels, and cumin with the required quantity of water

Switch off the cooker after two whistles

Add a spoonful of ghee to the cooked mixture

Serve hot
