'Art brunch' at Kochi celebrated food, music and art

Culinary art is an extraordinary expression of flavour and flair. From perceiving a dish to the unique ways of cooking and serving it, food is often considered artistic creations. Celebrating the creative aspects in food and cuisine, the Marriott Hotel in Kochi recently held an art brunch where hundreds of foodies turned up to enjoy the unique experience. It was the perfect event which combined art, music and unique flavours. It was for the first time that art brunch, which is very popular in the metro cities, was conducted in Kochi.


The guests could enjoy the sweet aroma of the delicious food that awaited them, from the moment they walked into the venue. From the local dishes to the foreign cuisines, one could try out an array of mouthwatering dishes here.

A brand new Mercedes Benz became the canvas of noted artist Thotta Lakshminarayana, who turned it into a live art work. Events like ‘Paint Your Pizza’ where the customers could design their own pizza and ‘Food Craft’ conducted by executive chef Ravinder Panvar were the highlights of the art brunch.


Thotta Laksminarayana began to paint on the Mercedes Benz at 9 in the morning and when he finished at 4 pm, the brand new car had turned into a beautiful piece of art installation. Delicious breakfast and lunch dishes were served at the event, accompanied by soulful music as well. Jyoti Balani, noted food writer and wine taster was the curator of the art brunch. Many well known artists and musicians took part in the art and culinary extravaganza.
