Eggs are rich in proteins and can be included in the daily diet of your children, provided your kid is not obese. Those who suffer from diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, obesity or high cholesterol should either reduce the intake of the egg yolk or avoid it completely. If you are above the age of 35, you should not eat more than two eggs in a week.
How to check if the eggs are fresh?
If the egg is fresh, its shell will be rough. Add salt in a glass of water and put the egg in it. If the egg floats on the water, you can be sure that it is a decayed one. If the egg white oozes out like water, the egg must be rotten. The egg white of the rotten egg will be intermixed with the egg yolk.
How to prepare?
Wash the egg, and crack it open with a clean spoon. Wash your hands thoroughly before cooking the egg. Boil the egg for 5-7 minutes. It is always better to boil the egg until its yolk and white coagulate well.
You can keep fresh eggs in the egg tray and preserve it in the middle or bottom storage racks of the refrigerator for three weeks without decaying. If the egg is broken, you can preserve it safe for a day if it is locked inside an air tight container and placed inside the freezer. Broken eggs should not be stored at room temperature for more than two hours.
An egg contains vitamins A, B and D, minerals iron, potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium. Eggs contain little starch, protein 12 – 14%, fat 10 – 12%.
