Many people love whipping up a nice and refreshing detox drink after a festival season or if they have overeaten which may topple their diet goals. However, science does not validate the 'magical' ability of such drinks to actually flush toxins out of your body. They say that a detox drink is not required as long as the liver does its job properly.

However, diet enthusiasts hardly pay heed to this and emphasize the need for detoxing, especially after a day of indulgence. Amid all these contrary arguments, everyone seems to agree that detox drinks are actually refreshing and help you lead a healthier lifestyle. So, here are some unconventional detox drinks that might aide your healthy living.

Lemon, cucumber and ginger

While lemon and cucumber have alkaline properties, ginger helps flush out toxins. Mix half a cucumber, juice of one lemon and a piece of ginger in a bottle of water. You can sip this water few times a day.

Turmeric milk

Turmeric has great antiseptic, antidepressant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also eases the digestion. Add a pinch of turmeric in a glass of milk. You could also add honey if required, for sweetness.

Tender coconut and aloe vera

Blend tender coconut water with some aloe vera gel to make a refreshing drink. Add a few tulsi leaves and some lemon juice as well, to make it healthier.
