Folded Poori

Delightful golden brown pooris ready to be stuffed inside lunch boxes, and can even be a teatime snack that rocks with any curry, jam or even honey!

Ingredients

500gm white flour (maida)

1 tsp ghee

Oil, as required

Salt, as required

Preparation

Combine the white flour, ghee and salt, rubbing hard with your fingers.

Add enough water and knead to a stiff dough

Divide the dough to lemon-sized balls and roll out each ball to large round thin disc

Dab a little oil on the surface, fold twice to get four layers and roll again

Heat the oil in a pan and deep fry the pooris till they turn golden brown

Serve hot
