What could be more appetizing than the traditional banana fritters? You just might find the answer in the delicious new jackfruit fritters!

Ingredients

6-€“10 pods jackfruit, firm and slit lengthwise
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp cornflour
1 tsp sugar
A pinch of turmeric powder
3/4 cup water
A pinch of salt
Oil to deep fry

Preparation

Clean and remove the seeds from the jackfruit pods and slit them lengthwise
In a bowl, take all purpose flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, salt and sugar
Blend it nicely by adding 3/4 cup of water to make the batter
Meanwhile heat oil in a deep bottomed pan
Dip the jackfruit pieces one after another in the batter and deep fry until they turn golden brown on both sides
Drain the excess oil with a tissue or paper towels
Relish the snack with hot tea
