    Chana masala with soy sauce

If you thought making chana masala needed time and patience, try this recipe; the liberal use of soy sauce adds just the right flavour to this easily made chickpea curry.

Ingredients

1 cup cooked chikpeas

1 cup fried onion slices

1 tbsp chilli powder

1 ½ tbsp coriander powder

1 tsp pepper powder

1 dsp minced garlic

Juice of half a lemon

¼ cup soy sauce

1 dsp butter

A few sprigs of coriander leaves

Water, as required

Preparation

Soak the chickpeas overnight and cook to three whistles in a pressure cooker

In a pan, heat oil, and add minced garlic, chilli powder, coriander powder and pepper powder. Saute well

Add the soy sauce and keep stirring

Now, add the fried onion slices

Stir well, and add in the boiled chickpeas

Blend well with the gravy and squeeze in the lemon juice

Stir well, add the butter and coriander leaves

Easy chana masala is ready
