Meen Kariveppila Fry

When it rains, it's seafood time! The monsoons bring in the best of the fish as well. This fish fry, made unique by adding large portions of healthy green curry leaves, will make you lick up even the last crumb.

Ingredients

½ cup, Bengal gram

12-15 dried red chillies

2 cups curry leaves

1 small tsp turmeric powder

1 small tsp sugar

1 small tsp asafoetida

1 dsp lemon juice

Salt, as required

½ kg fish pieces

Oil, as required

Preparation

Take a pan, and heat the Bengal gram, dried red chillies and curry leaves and saute

Make sure they do not become golden brown. Then, grind this mixture well until it becomes powdered

Mix the turmeric powder, sugar, asafoetida, lemon juice and salt together and marinate the fish with the paste

Now, roll each fish piece on the powdered mixture and cover the fish with it. Keep this aside for an hour

After half an hour, in a pan, heat very little oil. Put the fish pieces into the pan. Close the lid of the pan and let it fry

Take it out once it's fried, and delicious fish fry is ready to serve
