Cut out sugar cookies

Whip up some fun with these colourful cookies that will easily turn out to be a favorite at your toddler’s next birthday party!

Ingredients

1 cup salt less butter, softened
1 cup sugar
Egg yolks of 2 large eggs
½ tsp vanilla essence
2 ½ cups white flour
½  tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375— degree
Combine the flour and sugar to a smooth paste
Add the egg yolks one by one and beat well. Now it's time for the vanilla essence to be added
Sift the white flour, baking powder and salt and keep aside
Divide to two portions. Combine each portion separately with the butter and sugar, wrap in two plastic wraps and cool in the refrigerator for half an hour
Dab flour on a tray and roll out the dough. Cut out different shapes using cookie cutters
Arrange on cookie sheet and bake till the edges turn golden brown
Allow to cool and remove from the cookie sheet
Repeat with the other portion of the dough
Decorate with coloured sugar crystals or cookie glaze
