Ajmer Kalakand

Milk and sugar reduced and roasted with coconut and ghee till it browns. Mouthwatering, isn't it? Easily made, and one of the best sweet treats you can find in northern India during Diwali.

Ingredients

4 litres milk

400 gm sugar

200 gm coconut grated

100 gm ghee

100 gm cashew nuts chopped

1 tsp cardamom powdered

Preparation

Mix together the milk and sugar and boil it till it thickens up really well

Add the ghee and grated coconut, and cook till the mixture browns

To this, add the chopped cashew nuts and cardamom powder. Remove from the fire

Immediately, transfer to a flat tray and leave to set

Once it sets, cut it into desired shape with a sharp knife and serve with a garnish of cashew nuts
