Spicy button idli

Are you a fan of those cute and tiny button idlis? Here is a way to make your favorite idli variety into a spicy snack. This spicy pepper flavored button idli is the best thing you can come up with using the leftover batter.

Ingredients

15 small button sized idlis

1 carrot, sliced

2 onions, sliced

1 capsicum, sliced

1 tbsp sliced garlic

1 tbsp sliced ginger

4 green chilies, sliced

2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp pepper powder

Few sprigs of curry leaves

1 tbsp sugar

Salt, as required

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds

Add dried chilies

Add chopped garlic, ginger and green chilies

Add chopped onion, capsicum and carrot to it, saute well

Add chili powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and mix well

Add some water to the mixture

Now add salt

Add chopped coriander leaves

Now add the button idlis and mix well

keep on stirring until the masala is coated well on the idlis

Serve with chutney
